Fall Fruits:

Our farm stand at home is open year round.

Olives, Fresh

Each fall we custom pick fresh olives for those who would like to cure their own olives at home. For green olives we typically sell our fantastic Barouni Olives which were planted over 50 years ago specifically for a home curing cooperative. We use cover crops and rotations of cattle, goats, sheep and chickens to control vegetation and fertilize the orchards naturally. Goats are used to assist in brush removal and pruning rather than tillage and herbicides. Our olive groves provide valuable irrigated pasture for our cattle herd in the summer. Thus yielding two crops rather than one. Sold by the pound. Shipping Available.

Persimmons

Chaffin Orchards grows two types of persimmons. Our traditional baking persimmon is great for breads and cookies. When soft and ready to spoon, it makes the most of these treats. No Pesticides, no herbicides, no cold storage, no fungicides, no rind treatments. Sold individually and by the pound.

Fuyu Persimmons

The Fuji persimmon is similar to a cross between a persimmon and an apple. This crisp persimmon is great for eating or in fall salads. No Pesticides, no herbicides, no cold storage, no fungicides, no rind treatments. Sold individually and by the pound.

Pomegranates

These beautiful fruits, full of wonderful juice are always a sign that fall has arrived. Available in October, they are a treat in salads and jellies. Each fruit is full of beautiful red seeds, loaded with sweet juice.
