Chaffin Family Orchards Eggs are a superior fresh product. Our poultry live on the land. The consumption of fresh grasses, seeds, and insects makes for top quality eggs. Studies have shown that eggs from poultry on pasture contain higher levels of healthy omega -3 fats and conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). In addition to all the health benefits, these eggs just taste better. Their intense yellow yolks stand up in the pan and the character of the whites is amazing. If you have given up making certain dishes due to the poor quality of store bought eggs, give these a try. The height of baked goods made with our eggs is amazing. Our hens are housed in “egg mobiles”. These houses are moved about the ranch weekly so our hens always have fresh ground to enjoy. The hens clean up the orchards and pastures and enjoy harvesting all the goodies that the other animals have left behind.
Each egg mobile contains all the comforts of home for the hens. Comfy roosts and clean deep bedded nests are always available when then hens are ready to use them. The egg mobile is a cozy indoor home for the hens when they want to get out of the elements. When the hens want to go back outside they just head down the ramp to freedom. Bonded to the egg mobile as home, they will come back in the evening or when they feel in need of it’s comfort. Our hens are also offered organic grains and supplements in a buffet style feeding system that allows them to balance their own diets with the forage and feed available in each area they are moved to. Automatic waterers assure plenty of clean fresh water is always available. Eggs are gathered daily and kept refrigerated until sale. Sold by the dozen or half dozen.
