Chaffin Family Orchards is a diversified family farm in Oroville, California. We are located in Butte Valley on the northeast side of California’s Sacramento Valley. We serve local customers throughout the county and the surrounding area. Our locally produced products are fresh from the farm. This means no cold storage or fumigants to lengthen shelf life. All of our fruits are picked daily, weather permitting, and come directly from the orchard to the farm stand or market. Shipped fruits are harvested on the morning of shipment.

Humanely raised grass fed meats are another important part of our ranch ecosystem. Grass Fed Beef, Grass Fed Lamb and Grass Fed Goat Meat or Chevon are produced utilizing the native forages on our ranch. By Grazing the animals in concert with nature, we are able to improve the health of the land and the health of our animals. Ultimately this improves the health of the eater. All of our animals are USDA harvested and inspected within 40 miles of the ranch. This makes our miles to market number extremely low. All of our meat animals are raised antibiotic free, hormone free, and cruelty free. Our animals are never penned up in a corral or CAFO and never fed grains or stimulants of any kind. We raise animals as nature intended them to be raised.

Our pastured poultry farm produces both pastured poultry chicken meat and eggs. All of our poultry are moved to fresh pasture frequently and fed certified organic feeds. This frequent moving produces the best farm fresh local eggs and chicken. The health benefits of increased Omega-3 fatty acids from chickens raised on pasture are well known.

All of the foods produced on our ranch are those we feel good about feeding our own family. Five generations of us have enjoyed these foods and enjoyed sharing them with our local population of eaters.

Our orchards produce fruits 365 days of the year. Olives, Oranges, Grapefruit, Lemons, Cherries, Apricots, Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, Figs, Asian Pears, Avocados, Pomegranates, Persimmons, and Mandarins can all be found at the peak of ripeness during their season at our farm. All of these fruits are produced from our orchards using organic farming methods and picked fresh daily. Our fruits taste the way they are supposed to. We believe quality foods are achieved by growing time tested, old fashioned fruit varieties in concert with nature. When farmers try to tweak nature by adjusting the growing season, or utilizing elaborate storage it is food quality and health benefits that suffer.

Chaffin Family Orchards uses the most sustainable farming and ranching methods available to us. From our gravity fed water system to our solar powered fence systems and no till orchard practices we strive to keep the land healthy for generations. These environmentally friendly farming practices allow the farm to be a pleasant place for farm animals, wildlife, and people.

Quality can be found in all of our products as honesty and integrity guide us in our production practices. Animals are harvested when it makes sense from a taste and quality standpoint not just because there is demand. The same can be said of our fruits and olive oil. We make sacrifices of profit in order to produce a better product. Sometimes a storm will catch us unaware and we will lose some products on the trees but we feel they are better off stored there until harvest for a quality product than harvested prematurely thus producing a lesser product.
